George Manthas, DDS

George Manthas, DDS, is a New York City native who has devoted over two decades to high quality, individualized patient care. As the leading provider at New Century Smile in Midtown East, Manhattan, Dr. Manthas takes a conservative approach to general and cosmetic dentistry, helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.

Dr. Manthas received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry, where he was awarded the Distinguished Service to New York University Dental School Award. Dr. Manthas has received training in both general and cosmetic dentistry and provides many safe and effective services, including dental cleanings, teeth whitening, implants, veneers, and periodontal treatment.

Before entering into private practice, Dr. Manthas provided individualized care to patients at New York University Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, as well as Morrisania Hospital in the Bronx. 

Dr. Manthas takes the time to understand the needs of each patient, treating everyone like family. He’s dedicated to the highest quality of dental care and continues to pursue the latest technologies and treatments. In addition to his work at New Century Smile, Dr. Manthas is a current member of the National Society of Dental Practitioners and the American Prosthodontic Society. Dr. Manthas speaks English, Spanish, and Greek. 

Nam Phan, DMD

My name is Dr. Nam Phan and I have been practicing dentistry since 2009. After graduating from Boston University Dental School, I completed a 12-month residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, providing general anesthesia to in-patient, outpatient and emergency patients requiring medical treatment. I subsequently became a faculty member at the University of Las Vegas Nevada Dental School, training graduate students in the skills and art of oral surgery.

With an advanced education in Orthodontics, Implants, Oral Surgery, Cosmetics, Sleep Apnea and Anesthesia, I am able to provide a wide range of dentistry to patients as a whole. I maintain a philosophy of building long-term relationships through excellence in customer care. My philosophy revolves around “Selflessness, Trustworthiness and Excellence”. In my practice, it has given me great satisfaction to successfully administer sedation for patients with dental fear, perform complicated dental procedures, and help to improve patients’ quality of life.

During my free time, I work with a group of doctors who provide dental services to underserved areas in need of medical care. This is something that is highly beneficial for both patients and practitioners, allowing practitioners to give back to the community. I have also developed a system to cultivate the patient-practitioner relationship and successfully address patient driven concerns.

I have found that we are better equipped to serve our patients when we understand their goals and can provide realistic expectations. Of note, I also participate in a system through HCCRCP (Health Care Cost Re-Coup Program) which allows patients to enjoy all aspects of healthcare at virtually no cost.
